Product Description
Eastman HQMME (Hydroquinone Monomethyl Ether) is a white, flaked solid. HQMME is only slightly soluble in water but has excellent solubility in organic solvents. The aromatic ring can undergo numerous reactions (alkylation, halogenation, and substitutions) without loss of the methyl ether group. Unlike most phenolic inhibitors, small concentrations of HQMME are colorless in the presence of alkaline emulsions.
